Arc-Hem T-Shirt Proportions: Check the Front, Side and Back With One Outfit

An arc hem changes where a T-shirt ends from the front, side and back. Photograph one complete outfit from all three views to decide whether the silhouette works with your usual bottoms. The physical shirt—not its product name—supplies the evidence.

Lock one outfit and camera position

Choose the shorts or pants you genuinely plan to wear. Put the camera at waist-to-chest height on a fixed mark, far enough away to include head to shoes. Keep the same stance, underlayer and footwear throughout.

Stand naturally without pulling the hem straight. Take front, left-side, back and right-side photographs. A helper can take them, or use a timer in a safe clear space.

Trace three visual lines

On copies of the photos, mark where the hem appears at centre front, side and centre back. Then note where those points fall relative to the waistband, pocket openings and widest visible area of the bottoms. Do not turn the marks into body measurements.

Compare one controlled alternative

If the proportion feels off, change only one element—perhaps footwear or bottom rise—and repeat the photographs. Changing the pose, camera and garment together makes the cause impossible to identify.

Add one seated photograph only if sitting is important to the outfit’s real use, and label it separately from the three-view standing set. Do not replace the side view with a posed angle; the controlled views are what make versions comparable over time.

Write the date and garment combination on the photo set so a later outfit comparison uses the same baseline.

This exercise judges visual proportion only. It does not establish drape, fit, comfort or occasion suitability. The Ace of Spades Print Arc T-Shirt page identifies the current shirt; use the delivered garment for the actual check.
